SKINCARE PRODUCTS FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN
Skin texture, bumps, and acne are all a part of your skin. As much as we would like to, smooth, bump free skin may just be a dream. Now, we’re not saying that you can’t achieve a complexion that is almost perfect, but all skin will have lines, texture, and the occasional blemish.
A lot of factors play into how your skin may be behaving, and in a lot of cases, it really boils down to your skincare routine. Everyone is different, and everyone does have their own specific set of skin concerns that they are working on, but the truth is, everyone gets acne.
What is difficult is how to treat that blemish. Why are they always popping up before a big event?
You may believe that dousing your skin in acids and toothpaste may be the best and quickest solution, however, that is perhaps the worst thing you can do.
Remember, your skin is extremely sensitive, and as much as we would like to believe that overdoing it may be the best solution, it’s always good to take a step back and remember that gently handling your acne may be the best course of action.
So, what is the best course of action, and what are the best products to use to ensure the blemish goes and does not leave any scars?
Remove your makeup!
The number one cause of your acne could be due to the fact that you are not removing your makeup effectively. Trapped makeup and dirt can clog your pores, which may be the reason you’re experiencing those pesky pimples. Whether you are wearing makeup or not, you always want to double cleanse your skin. Go in with an oil cleanser first to break down the dirt of the day, and then go in with your cleanser of choice, we would recommend a cleanser containing salicylic acid to help treat the blemish.
Blemish Treatments
Now, this is usually when people bring in the toothpaste or even start picking at their acne. THIS IS A BIG NO NO! You may believe this is doing more good than harm, but let us tell you a little secret, come on, come in close, you’re just irritating your skin! There are a vast amount of treatments out there, so there really is no excuse in using toothpaste as a treatment. We know that aggressively applying a treatment twice a day may feel like it’s effective, but remember, the best time to apply a treatment is during the evening when your skin cells are turning over. Whether you apply it directly to the blemish or all over the skin, ensure to apply it before your moisturizer and after you cleanse so that it is the most effective.

Moisturizer
All that cleansing and treating may strip the skin, and a lot of people believe that not applying moisturizer can help dry out their blemish, but this is incredibly false. Not only will you be drying out your skin barrier, your skin is working overtime to replenish the skin, by producing more oil, which can ultimately give you more acne! Remember, moisturizer is not your enemy, it is your friend. Whether you choose to use a light weight moisturizer or a heavy duty one, please ensure you are moisturizing twice a day!
Skinfix Barrier+ Skin Barrier Niacinamide Restoring Gel Cream
Keeping it simple can sometimes just be the best thing you can do for your skin when it’s going haywire. Layering treatments and acids is definitely not helpful, and may just further exacerbate the issue. Remember, regardless of any blemishes or bumps, you are still as beautiful as ever. Blemishes are temporary, so love yourself regardless of the imperfections on your face.
