Although extremely popular for women, men have started to pique their interest in Botox or should we say Brotox, as well to help with any areas of concern.
The great thing about Brotox is how natural the results can be. Undergoing the procedure can seem intimidating, although the results are so natural looking, it almost seems like you may not have gotten any work done in the first place! Essentially, you leave our office looking more refreshed and youthful.
Not sure what Botox is and how it works?
Botox is a toxin called onobotulinumtoxinA, which temporarily prevents the treated muscle from moving. Essentially, once the toxin is injected, it will reduce the movement of your muscle, and eventually fade the lines formed on your skin. Many believe that movement in the face essentially ceases, although this is untrue, as it just relaxes the muscles, so the movement is not as impactful at creating those aging lines.
As we continue to age, whether we are a man or a woman, we all can feel like our skin may need some touch ups. Aging is natural, and there is nothing to be embarrassed about if a few lines start to appear on the face. The great thing is, Botox is a wonderful treatment to implement in your anti-aging routine.
Men may feel overwhelmed or confused when walking into a clinic if this is an area they are not familiar with. Although, don’t fret, because if done correctly, the results with Botox can be extremely natural, and will boost your confidence in a matter of minutes.
Not sure where Brotox can be done on the face and which areas it can treat?
The most common areas that are treated for men include:
- Crow’s feet
- Frown lines
- Forehead creases
- Lines near the mouth
- Line between the brows
Men may also wonder if it’s okay for them to get Botox done. Because hey, isn’t this just for women? The answer is no. These treatments are not isolated to just one gender, as a lot of men, especially those in the film industry are known to get minor touch ups, because let’s face it, we are going to age, and why not age in a way that allows us to feel better about ourselves.
The added bonus apart from the increase in confidence, is the zero downtime that comes with Brotox. Not only this, but the longevity of the treatment can last between 3 – 6 months, so you’re able to go back to your usual activities in no time.
Want to boost your Brotox?
Perhaps investing in skincare is a route that you may need to go down on as well. We can not tell you the amount of men we meet who believe skin care is not for them and that their 2 in 1 body washes are the only skincare they need. We always say this, but investing in a good routine goes a long way, and your routine should always include a:
- Face wash
Not sure what to check out or where to even start?
Check out our picks below:
Face wash is an absolute must, especially during your evenings, as you need to ensure you remove all the gunk from the day. Try to double cleanse, as this will be key in cleansing the skin thoroughly. If you are more prone to dry skin, we suggest just cleansing with cool water in the mornings, and going in with your choice of cleanser in the evenings.
Serums are great as they are concentrated and penetrate deeply into the skin. We recommend sticking to a Vitamin C for the mornings, and strictly only using retinol in the evenings. Check out our previous blog post where we discuss all things retinol!
In order to lock in all the goodness, you need to seal your skincare in with a great moisturizer. Even if you have oily skin, you NEED to moisturize your skin, so as not to dehydrate your skin barrier, which can cause further lines and wrinkles. Make sure to moisturize morning and night, after your cleanser and serum.
Sunscreen is the number one anti-aging product out there. You want to look like a young, youthful, fresh little man? Sunscreen is the answer to all things wrinkles. Apply in the morning and throughout the day to ensure you are protected. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!
